Ahhh! Its feels good..

This past weekend Huili and I gone to Kawaihae. The weather was perfect and the water was cool. Believe it or not, this was Huili's first time in the water since getting hapai (pregnant). As you can see, she is loving the idea of having no weight to carry. I want to make 2-3 times a week to be in the ocean.

What a opportunity for living in Hawaii. This beach is only 15 min away from our place of stay and I need to make the effort to schedule Huili to swim and get exercise. The one thing I did that was fun was going under water and talk to the baby, it really makes it magnify the sound.

7 Months

Aloha Ohana!

Baby boy is 7 months 1 week, week 29! We have been noticing a lot of movements and its really fun seeing and feeling the boy. The latest update: Baby is 3 lbs. We gone to a ultra sound in Waimea thursday morning and got these pictures to share. There are a lot of moments when Huili really gets some good kicks and could imagine what will be like months to come. First photo is the boys face feature. Second is the side profile and third is his foot.

We get more questions regarding finding the name of the boy and currently we don't know yet. We are now asking questions and researching of what is needed for our new born. Its becoming as we notice of the time is approaching more surreal, we are praying more now more than ever before. I hear from new parents that the first weeks every two hours baby needs care. I am finding its best to ask less questions and let life surprise me. The more I ask, the more I can't sleep :-)

Good Night!

God's good, all the time!

Hello Friends and Family! Several weeks ago and today Huili and I had some awesome pastors that was our church guest speakers. This photo was early this month with well known pastor and author Max Lucado. It was a breathtaking opportunity of listening to him for two weeks.

Today we had a pleasure of meeting and hearing David Robinson. He and his family are so friendly. Their three sons are already tall for the young an age 16, 14 and 12. Dave and our kahu (pastor) has had a friendship for years. David has two homes here in Hawaii on the Kona area that is very high up. Our kahu is a minister down there so that his how they became tight friends in the Lord. Max is friends with the church from the relationship from Dave in San Antonio TX.

Education, Education!

This week Huili is on her 26 week! We just started a birth class this past wednesday and I found it being informative. The only thing is it has put our wednesday praise and worship on hold until the class is pau. This past 3 weeks was awesome! We ate soooo much hawaiian food from different party. Yesterday was an awesome one, our good friends daughter graduate from Honoka'a and we help with the activities prior-during and after. We never ate so much Lau-Lau in my life ;-0

As for the baby, we got an idea for the chinese name but not yet with the hawaiian. The boy will have a hawaiian first name and middle chinese. The baby is really rock and rolling inside the belly. I thank our Lord for a healthy baby.

A hui ho!

Kamehameha Day 2009 Kohala

Aloha! I took some photos yesterday
and thursday in Kohala. Kohala is the birth place of King Kamehameha and every year there is a parade and activities. Its really fun with music and hula. This satue is is over a 100 years old and has a great story, you need to come and find out about it. First picture is the day before the parade and the other is after on the day of the celebration.

At the event, my aunty Mabel attended. It was nice seeing her, she has gotten better with her illness. She looks like my dad very much, she is my favorite aunt.

This next picture was taken in Kohala at the Valley lookout. We gone down there years ago and its sooooo beautiful on the bottom, awesome black sand. I thought to go down but I figured Huili would not be in the spirit to do it :-)

Huili can only dream of eating Ahi (tuna) from Costco.

Jump baby Jump!

Aloha! Today we are at 23 weeks and at home. We are listening to classical music and we are having a fun time playing with our son. Im on the computer and Huili is resting on the coach. She read from a book about poking her stomach to see any response from the baby and we sure did. We laugh so much because the boy is listening to music and getting poked at from mom. This video is proof of this and at the ending seconds is where you can see the skin move because of movement.

This picture of Huili with Amisa from the Pregnancy Center in Kona. She is very nice and she been with us since the first weeks. What I like about this center is it post the ultrasound onto the wall so it is easy to view. This makes it easy for me to video. I really support this center because what they are doing. It is sponsored by "Focus on the Family", a Christian supported organization.
This is a photo of what a 23 week baby look like. It has becoming surreal for us of how far we are in this. We now are past the half way mark and from these past months, its been fast!

this is what a pregnancy can do to you

Aloha All! Here is a update. This week, baby boy is in the 20th week. A lot of new discovery in our marriage is going on with the changing of the body. We realize that we humans are species of our environment and I found my self looking the part as Huili ?? Huili was so amazed of my progress :-)
This next picture is about my enjoyment of poke (raw fish cube). Huili expects me for not do a lot of things I normally do but not eating fish?!? come on... I feel sorry for Huili because the putting poke on the side for this season but she feel that I am mean for eating raw fish in front of her. A funny story, shortly after, we were outside in the parking lot. The girl who helped me with the fish gave me a shake of the head, she has kids and knows the feeling of Huili not able to eat and she says its not cool man (kidding).

BIG NEWS: In the early morning, Huili waken me up and said to give her my hand, I was sleepy but I had to be told three times. I was not sure what she wanted but she put my hand over her (Opu) stomach and I got awake quick! I could feel the little boy moving. It feel like a keen movement of a finger under a sheet. Huili could feel the boy swishing around since 18 weeks but this morning was my first time I could feel, wow! It really was a good feeling of feeling life on the other side.

We have an ultrasound again next week on the 27th. I will record it and post it when can. This should be fun to watch because of the difference of months ago. Much Mahalo-Wade

Beat it! at 18 Weeks

Today, we check on the heart beat of the baby. The video shows that this baby can not keep still and we could hear the movement of the baby in the stomach and Huili says she can feel movement inside of her.

THE BABY IS A .........!

Aloha everyone. Yesterday (5-5) we gone to the clinic for our appointment with Dr. Hirata for a ultra sound check up. We knew we were going to get result of the sex of
our baby and to be honest, I was certain that we are having a girl. Let me explain. Since men holds the decision of the sex of the baby, for 4 generations every male has a girl first and most have boy second. I was the last of the generation to have a child so when we gone to the appointment and as I video the ultra sound, Mr. Hirata says here is the head, here is the feet, here is the spine. We was still waiting then he said, here is the penis. I said 'what!'. The baby is healthy and from our first ultrasound, this kid can't keep still.

For myself, I could not believe it. I was programed in my head for a girl and then the news of a boy, man that really jam me up. During this visit, Huili was teasing me a bit saying God sure played me and started to laugh. At first I had the think things over and get ready for having a boy and today I said to Huili, now you have to deal with
Me and Little Me ;-)..

She did not think that was funny. The first photo shows the 3D and the second is seeing the boys boto, lol.

Oh, is that KFC your eating?? :-)

I personally need to watch my eating habits because of my current health. Huili is always careful and worry about eating fast-food. This week, I could not believe when Huili said she wanted to eat KFC. I personally don't care for KFC so I when we started to eat, I could not pass the opportunity to take some photo's but as you can see, Huili does not like that idea.

This picture was taken today. She looks cute now and her little belly is showing. Its crazy sometimes as I think of the development of the little one in her tummy. The book say the baby is 5" from head to rump. A lot of the features in now more human like and also baby is starting to hear. Next week is our appointment with the Doctor from Honolulu, we will have a 3D ultrasound an the ability to view the sex, how exciting. I said before, I believe its a girl.

This past weeks has been a busy and stressful one. I'm happy one of our important jobs is finish and now move onto other jobs. I am hoping to have my SUV back soon, its been in the shop for some time waiting for a new transmission. This was a good learning experience to trust in the Lord. I have been so spoiled with transportation and now is a great learning for me to not worry so much and leaving it to God to provide which God has.

Every Saturday is a new week for the age of the baby. This week is the 17th week and that is second trimester. I am happy that Huili has got rid of the sickness for now and she has been more mobile and helpful around the home. Now its more a real life situation to prepare for what is about to come. I realize I need to become more careful with our expenses and to creating a consistency of income.

The next update should be after our appointment so I will be discussing the news of finding out if we are having a girl or boy. A hui Hou! - Wade

Breathing Checkup

I know its been a while, thanks for waiting. I have been blessed with a job down Waikoloa that has kept me busy for the past weeks.

Recently Huili mentions to me and our Dr. about having shortness of breath. We got to see this specialist that would do tests to find out why and what is causing this. We found that Huili has a mild case of Asthma. The best part of this exercise was watching Huili doing this exercise and being coached by Dr. Tom. I had a hard time holding my self back from cracking up because the orchestra of the doc was doing to help with the patient with getting the test as done as good as it could get. I have to say thou, this guy really is good at what he does. I learn its more than telling the patient what to do. This doc does the exercise along with you! (could pass for po-ta-gee).

Currently, Huili is doing much better now as we are entering the second trimester. I must admit I was afraid of having this sickness carry all though the pregnancy, thank God its not! Our next appointment with the doctor is for ultrasound checkup. It will be in the first week in May. We should know by then the sex of the baby. My hunch is a girl. Any bets? Aloha for now- Wade

Must Need Food

Today our baby makes 12 weeks! This week the book say the fetus is in need for Calcium for the development of bones and teeth. I am glad our products got here yesterday for Huili's nutrition. We only use the best Nutrilite. I will take no chance for not having the best. For this week, I realize the importance of food. What I got from this new experience is making sure that food is always home and for Huili to NEVER get hungry. Huili has a bad thing about gastric pain, it comes when she feels hungry (every 2 hours!) including with the pregnancy going on.

As in picture one, Huili is eating a daily dose of fruits (how cute), second shows how pregnancy can play tricks with your cravings, she usually don't like Mexican food but so far I can't count the times we ate Mexican. Latest cravings, cold Jamba juice. Huili really like the Achai with Heart Happy boost (of course, the biggest size possible when can). Sometimes I have to ask for a sip because she can make it gone in seconds! As this third photo shows, Huili is happy. Last photo was taken today outside our home. I got to play with this new software on my iPhone of editing the photo colors, she looks adorable.

Regarding the food, six to eight weeks was more of food smell and sight she don't like at all. Currently its more of things she wants. One good budget thing is she don't want sweets and meaty meals. She wants more of fruits and veggies and that is ok with me because its cheaper and healthy for all of us to eat this way. Well ohana, its way past my nappy time, I have a mens bible study in the morning. ALOHA!

Feeling the L-O-V- E

This photo gives a person who has not experience pregnancy a good idea what may lay ahead for the first 12 weeks of the journey. I pray to God to have this sickness end by the second trimester for Huili. I really understand the famous saying "happy wife, happy life!" I could not appreciate that truth any more.

I hear from others who has gone though pregnancy that who had sickness all during pregnancy and after ;-P Please GOD, not me!

One key factor to note in this first trimester, ALWAYS have food accessible to eat. I am finding myself of to keep watching the ultra sound video to help me focus in my attitude and reason for what I do daily. It is really easy to loose it after a few weeks in this stage. I pray to God to always give me the will to love, serve and be strong.

I really feel the continue uncomfortable feeling Huili is going through. I appreciate the person she is and what she is enduring.

Video of Ultra Sound 10W5D, Kona Hawaii

Let me introduce to you all the little bun in the oven that is giving mom all her sickness!

I must say, when I seen the first ultra sound at 6 weeks, I could hardly believe my sight of the little heart pumping like crazy. This time at 10 weeks, it has really takes my breath away as I see this baby kicks and moves its arms, its so cooool!! :-)
