June 21 Great Wall - Beijing China

Me and Ming Fai (brother in-law) getting ready to take on the challenge of climbing the wall with our kids.

Enter the Dragon! :-)

How lovely, I had to take this picture.

man, I knew I was in trouble at the early stage. Problem is, I could not find my inhaler!

Inside one of the guard shacks on the wall.

Isn't it mind blowing how this was made. Took a lot of people and hard work.

This gives you an idea of the grade of wall

My shirt says it, do I need to say it? :-)

Hanging out with my mom in-law. The views are always the best on the top!

all I can say is "wow".. what a great feeling!

We have been told that its one thing to go up but a total different thing coming down. Being me, I said nah to that and say its easy to come down. I was not expecting my legs to feel that burn on our way down because its muscles that we normally don't use if your not into fitness.

Chairman Mao created this monument that says its a worrior to climb this great wall. Well I did get to the top part of the wall so I guess Im a worrior ! (a tired one at least)

Me and my son hanging out on the wall

Its funny how a baby would copy what a parent would do, at that age. I make this funny intense face
and he does it back with the heavy breathing along with it like me. Very cute.

June 20th Forbidden City - Beijing China

As you can see, there are BIG open area. They have this LCD that is soooo huge like 15 ft tall and is 40 ft long!

People around the City do all different things to make money.

Can you tell that I am excited? Yes just in case you wonder :-)

My brother in-law. It was fun with him and his family. Very interesting with all members together

This is my sis in-law Pei Shi. We where going back and forth teasing on the trip. She for some reason always gets the last word

Our tour guide was awesome. His name is Mr. Who. Im not sure how to spell it in chinese but it sounds like Who. I call him Mr. Who and he calls me after my t-shirt 'mr. no problem'

One courtyard to another

This is called the Dragon path. Only the Emperor could walk on it. It goes right through the middle of the city, for more details the entire Beijing is constructed around the focal point that is the Forbidden City. It also leads to the Olympic Park.

All I want to say is 'details, details and details'. The craftsmanship is awesome.

My queen taking a walk on top of the bridge

Just like in Japan for my first time, its unbelievable for me being here. A Portuguese that gone Honoka'a here in China!

Daddy and Son picture time

Family. Huili and her mom, sister in-law and daughter Jan with Kawai

These doors goes though the next area of the city. I have to say that this place is insane large. It goes on and on! We spent some good hours here and found out that we only touch 1/3 of the area! Could you imagine that it would take you over 27 years to sleep in every room, every night, that is 9,999.5 rooms! The 1o,000 room is for God.

Standing on history. This place was built over 2 times longer than U.S.A was founded.

From the outside taking a picture.

This pots was covered with 50 kg or over 100 lbs of gold. During the war the different countries that occupied Beijing long time ago like the French, England etc. scraped gold off the pots. Hows that!

This is somewhat what the pot suppose to look like.

The entire City is surrounded by water and its amazing how man made it is, simply breath taking!

This is a great discovery, more teeth. Just a couple days ago this was taken and as for today Kawai has the second bottom teeth showing and second top already.. holy smokes! (don't mind the messy face :-), mom and dad did not wipe his face clean)

Doing our travels on the bus, he takes his short naps on the back seat. The great thing was not many people on this tour. It was personal and fun and we made new friends!

We have tour things to do and one of them was this old tradition that only the wealthy in the past where only could use. Now they have bikes than running, Its best for them that they don't need to run because of this was not an made for a Chinese to carry this heavy American :-)

Along the Forbidden City was houses that the people use to live that working in the city. The great thing about Beijing is these houses that are over 600 years old are still standing and being used.

These are old chinese artwork paper cutting passed down through generations. We seen down a street we walked, very detail and not expensive when changed to US dollar
