When the times get tough, we get tougher! (prayer)

Thank you for being so patient for our updates. So far we been home since Tuesday afternoon. We are soooooo exhausted and trying to find a rhythm. Huili and I has decided to do the Chinese after birth confinement care of one month, before people to meet little Kawai. Kawai, short call for his full first name 'Kawaiohalani' is pronounced as Kavai, in hawaiian language. I appreciate the kind words for our new arrival from friends and family. Below are pictures that somewhat explains the times leading up to birth. Enjoy!

Huili has been given this drug to encourage to start the birth process. As we walked around, the pressure and pain started to creep on.

So cute, waiting for the big moment

Huili with her Aloha Spirit (this wont last long)

Akiko was a very nice RN (register nurse), we had her care on night shift. I am thankful we had her take care of us. At this time, Huili has been in contractions for a long time. It started Saturday afternoon and carried over to the next day morning as you see her in tub. We needed to have her reach 3cm in order to have the Epidural. Huili was asking for the drug a long time ago but because her cervex was closed for a long time, she could not get it. Her labor last 25 hours!

This is Dr. Rudy. I believe this guy is the best for what he does. He has a lot of talent and experiences and sure glad he is part of Waimea Hospital of Doctors. He is loved by all because of the magic he brings to ladies, Epidural!

Huili is now relaxed and is able to sleep. She fought a good fight for a long time. I could not imagine being in her place. I thank God for me being a man :-)

She slept, I slept. I was excited and exhausted the same time.

Epidural had to stop at this point. She was pushing big time. I felt a lot for her about the pain she is going through. She took 2.5 hours to get the delivery of Kawai.

Hello!

Mommy is totally exhausted! Baby is good and safe. We are glad that the baby did not have any diabetes or any other health issues.
